SAFE WORK CERTIFIED - TRAINING COURSES
What is Safety Certification?
SAFE Work Manitoba has established a standard for occupational safety and health in the province called SAFE Work Certified. The goal is to help reduce workplace injuries and illnesses and promote a culture of safety in Manitoba by working with industry-based safety programs and safety associations (IBSPs) to offer safety and health certification to Manitoba employers that meets this standard. These IBSA’s are now ‘families’ under the umbrella of Safe Work Manitoba that have the authority to grant certification to all companies within their assigned WCB rate codes.
RPM is the certifying partner for the trucking industry in Manitoba (all companies within the three 501 rate classifications: 501-02, 501-09, 501-11).
There are currently nine certification courses available, four targeted towards federally regulated companies and four towards provincially regulated companies, and one that applies to both. Each company is required to take a total of four certification courses to meet the Safe Work Certified requirements - Safety & Health Leadership, Principles of Safety & Health Management, Safety & Health Committee OR Safety Representative and Internal Auditor training.
